"The Difference Between the Sheep and the Goats"

"The Difference Between the Sheep and the Goats"

Greetings in Jesus Name! In the day of the Lord at His second coming the nations will be gathered together. It is at this time we see the Lord will separate the peoples as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. Mt 25:31-46 31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Today we see much of these same separations in all people of the earth made by the same distinctions that Christ gives us in His parable. We have crowds of people gathering around the name of Christ. We have been warned by Christ that many false prophets, deceivers and teachers would be in the world. We have over 33,000 denominations claiming to be followers of Christ. In today's gatherings we have great programs, plenty of excitement and things to do, great speakers, family planning, counseling, youth programs and don't forget the exciting revival meetings. Yet with all the programs and busyness more and more people are being deceived, sin is on the increase and our societies are getting worse and worse. We see less and less of God's power and more and more evil. Marriages that claim to be Christ centered have a divorce rate of 4 in 6. There is a simple way to understand where things have gone wrong.

In John 10 The Lord tells us some things and a few of these are: My sheep know My voice and a stranger's voice they will not follow. So when He divides the sheep from the goats He simply calls out to the ones who follow Him. In Matthew 25 when the Lord makes this separation he shows us what His criteria is for separation.  The criteria for the sheep is: feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, taking in strangers, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned. The Lord says the sheep did these things to the Lord Himself when they did it to the least of these His brethren and the sheep are received into heaven. The goats are present often along with the sheep. They hang around and evidently new what to do but the Lord said to them that when they did not do these things to the least of these His brethren they did not do it unto the Lord Himself. Jesus sends the goats to the Lake of Fire.

So we should examine ourselves in light of these things. Are we a goat just following the crowds and filling our lives with excitement, modern day so called revelations that seem cool but have none of the Lord's true substance in the message? How many voices of strangers do we listen to and follow. Hopefully you are one of the sheep that hear the voice of Jesus and do what He says. Hopefully you are feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, taking in strangers, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned. The benefit of our obedience is the Lord voice comes to us in the Holy Spirit. God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him (Acts 5:32) If we obey the mandate given to the sheep in Matthew 25 we will see more and more of God's power. We see less and less of God's power today simply because we do less and less of the work that belongs to the sheep.

Look at your surroundings, are you in the flock as a sheep or are you following the crowd. If we have over 33,000 denominations that claim to follow Christ then most are following strangers. Christ is not the author of multiple opinions. According to Ephesians 4:5 "There is one Lord one faith only". So I encourage you to examine yourself and see if you are really in the faith. If you find yourself lacking do something about this and change but be prepared to be rejected and made light of by those who love all the other things. Christ will help do this. It is here you will come to know Him and the power of His resurrection.

God Bless!
